Garden View

Spring at last in full bloom sings

In the brightest morn;

Hear the redbreast’s chirping ring

Through the garden door.

See the daffodils! such cheer

Upon their faces bright;

And the posies’ pinkest spheres

Color gold sunlight.

Graceful lilies rise among

Grass of richest green,

And sparrows gaily hop along

And search for grubs, so keen.

Life again has come upon

The earth, since winter’s night;

Warmth and color ‘neath the sun

Now set the scene aright.
