Sun Yet Shines

The sun yet shines,

Though darkest cloud enshrouds the land below,

Where evil lurks and hunts the just -

How cowardly this foe.

The sun yet shines,

As battles great are fought o’er bloodied plain,

And men of greatness broken lie

Beneath the crimson stain.

The sun yet shines,

When onward leads the standard in the fray,

Into the hosts of darkness grim

That fade before the day.

The sun yet shines,

So press ye on, you gallant soldiers true,

And seize the gate, and raise a shout,

For victors great are you.
